Mass times at St. Eugene Church are:Saturday - 4:30 p.m.Sunday - 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Sock & Hygiene Drive August 17th-September 8thA Sock and Hygiene Drive for homeless veterans is August 17th through September 8th. Noah Sokolowski, from Boy Scout Troop 943 at St. Monica Academy and a junior at Ridgewood High School District 234, is working with VFW 8322 Armed Forces Post and seeking Eagle rank. Please bring donations to the gathering space.

Friendship Club Meeting on Tuesday, September 8th at 11am in the Hayes Center at OLMC**ANYONE 55 YEARS AND OLDER** - The Friendship Club is back!
We will be meeting on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH at 11:00 a.m. in the Hayes Center at Our Lady, Mother of the Church. Our doors will be open at 10:00 a.m. to welcome all our members and any men and women 55 years and older, who would like to join us for a delicious $10.00 lunch, a raffle drawing of 3 tickets for $1.00, and Bingo Cards for $1.00 each.
Membership is $20.00 for September 2026 to June 2027, and we meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month in the Hayes Center at Our Lady, Mother of the Church (8747 W. Lawrence Ave. in Chicago). Parking is available in the back of church in the south parking lot.
-Our lunch will be Pizza, Salad, and Ice Cream for dessert.
-After lunch, BINGO will be played.

Jacek Dada present an Eight-Part Bible Study by Ascension Press, “Follow Me: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of John”. The sessions start on Thursday, September 10th in St. Eugene Church, and the cost is $40 (cash or check) for the workbook and streaming. DATE CHANGE: OCIA begins on ~Wednesday, September 16th~ at 6:30PM in St. Eugene School Annex Room 110Do you know someone not baptized or baptized in another Christian tradition, who is thirsting for what it means to be Catholic? Do you know someone already Catholic but has not yet received Confirmation & Communion? They may be thirsting too!
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is a process by which one enters the Catholic Church through prayer, study, and discussion.
We will meet at St. Eugene School Room 110, every Wednesday from 6:30PM to 8:00PM.
The OCIA meetings will start after Labor Day - September 16, 2026.

Foster Ave. & N. Canfield Ave. under the white canopy) for BINGO - doors open at 6:00PM, play begins at 6:30PM. Bring your friends and BYOB for a night of fun, concessions, games, and prizes!

The Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive after all Masses September 19th & 20thThe Knights of Columbus Christopher Columbus Assembly #2349, (to which our Fr. Breen Knights of Columbus #1899 belong) will be selling Tootsie Rolls after all Masses the weekend of September 19th & 20th, at both Our Lady, Mother of the Church & St. Eugene Church. Holy Mass with Cardinal Ernest Simoni in St. Eugene Church on Sunday, September 20th at 4:00 PMAll are invited to celebrate Holy Mass with Albanian Cardinal Ernest Simoni at St. Eugene Church on Sunday, September 20th at 4:00 p.m. After Mass, all are invited for hospitality and light appetizers, with an opportunity to greet the Cardinal.The 97-year-old cardinal survived the prisons and forced labor of the Communist regime and remains a living witness to the faith. Cardinal Troshan was arrested on Christmas Eve 1963, after celebrating Mass for President John F. Kennedy. Under the brutal communist dictatorship of Enver Hoxha, which would eventually declare Albania the world’s first officially atheist state, Simoni was interrogated, tortured and initially sentenced to death.The sentence was later commuted, and he spent 18 years imprisoned and subjected to forced labor, including years at the notorious Spaç prison camp.But they could not make him abandon Christ.Inside the camp, Simoni secretly celebrated the Holy Mass from memory because he had no Missal. Bread and wine were smuggled to him, and he quietly heard confessions and ministered to fellow prisoners despite the danger of being discovered.When Pope Francis visited Albania in 2014 and heard Simoni recount what he had endured, the Pope was visibly moved to tears and embraced him. Pope Francis called him a "living witness of forgiveness" and made him a cardinal in 2016. Pope Francis would later publicly call him a “living martyr.”And then, on July 31, 2026, Cardinal Simoni returned to Spaç.At 97 years old, he stood at the former communist prison camp and publicly celebrated the same Eucharist he had once been forced to celebrate there in secret.Pope Leo XIV sent him a message for the occasion:“No prison is deep enough to separate a person from the love of God.”

Queen of Peace Parish Movie Night on Friday, September 25th at 7PMALL ARE WELCOME to join Queen of Peace Parish - Chicago & the Parish Pastoral Council on Friday, September 25th at Our Lady, Mother of the Church for a viewing of the film "Broken Mary: The Kevin Matthews Story", a 2025 documentary detailing the life of the famous 1980s and '90s Chicago radio icon Kevin Matthews. After an MS diagnosis led to job loss and personal crisis, Matthews found a broken Virgin Mary statue by a dumpster, sparking a profound spiritual awakening and transformation .
